The construction is made of solid metal bars in the under frame that both supports the tabletop and works as a foot stand. The tabletop is made of aluminium foam, filled with black-coloured araldite plastic to create a patterned surface. Around the aluminum filled surface is a stainless steel edge that protects it from bumps and scrapes. This was designed for bars and pubs. I chose to work with the qualities of plywood to see what functions it could have. There is a mechanism under the seat with two axes that create the movement of the surface. No screws or glue were used in its construction. It is all held together by the elastic band and the weight of the person using it. The band makes the seat surface bounce back to a horizontal position when it is not in use. The elastics also create a see through surface that gives the stool volume and the option to create different looks.
