This idea is the outcome of a project where we had to design storage that was maximum 1/8 of a cubic meter. Toilets are often a cramped space in homes, so I decided to make multifunctional storage. This solution makes it easy to change the toilet roll so that the new one doesn’t end up on the floor. The small storage has space for some extra toilet rolls and/or sanitary towels, which are hidden, but still close by when needed. The unit also has a magnetic surface providing the opportunity to play with fridge poetry.

This is the result of a project where I wanted to make a table that had something more than the “standard” bar table with just a pole and a tabletop. The construction is made of solid metal bars in the under frame that both supports the tabletop and works as a foot stand. The tabletop is made of aluminium foam, filled with black-coloured araldite plastic to create a patterned surface. Around the aluminum filled surface is a stainless steel edge that protects it from bumps and scrapes. This was designed for bars and pubs.

Cocoon is the result of a project where we had to design a storage unit for fruits and vegetables in a modern kitchen. I combined decoration, storage and cultivation for the kitchen window. In this organic shape you can grow spices and store fruits, which will give you both life and colour in the kitchen. Cocoon is made of clay that absorbs water from the cultivation. When it evaporates the storage is cooled down.

To sit, lean, lie down or work, there are many ways to wait. This project has been about creating a bench that covers ones’ needs when waiting in an indoor public space. I wanted to create a
bench that functions for both young and elderly people. This bench
has an open and clean design, providing flexible usage to meet different peoples’ needs while they wait.

Upcycle was a one-week project where we had to give old furniture new life. I chose to use a sofa that a second-hand store couldn’t sell. After taking the old furniture apart, I used the shape of the parts as inspiration for the new design. Some pieces were not modified at all and some were modified to fit the stool. The back legs turned into the rockers and the bars from the backrest ended up as “legs”. The result is an improvised piece that was made without prior sketches.</description>

This stool, with a moving seating surface, is from a project where we had to create 3-dimensional movement with a 2-dimensional material. I chose to work with the qualities of plywood to see what functions it could have. There is a mechanism under the seat with two axes that create the movement of the surface. No screws or glue were used in its construction. It is all held together by the elastic band and the weight of the person using it. The band makes the seat surface bounce back to a horizontal position when it is not in use. The elastics also create a see through surface that gives the stool volume and the option to create different looks.

Dimension: Diameter: 370 mm Hight: 440 mm
